Step 1: Gather the Necessary Items

As a guardian choosing makeup items and costumes for kids, you will need to consider the kid’s skin type, and ingredients used in making the items – to know the ingredients the items contain, you will need to read either the item handbook or precautions as it will give you heads up on what to expect and how to moderately use them and the process to follow.

Before we delve into the process, let’s take a look at the items you’ll need to create wrinkles with makeup on kids:

1. Makeup primer: Makeup primer is used to smoother the face or to create a smooth canvas before applying makeup.

2. Cosmetics sponges or Makeup sponges: generally used for even application of foundation and other makeup products.

3. Foundation: use a shade of foundation that is slightly darker than the child’s skin tone to create depth and shadows. For this,  I will recommend a Matte product or child-friendly foundation. 

4. Eyeshadows: the best eyeshadows that fit this type of makeup are dark shades like brown, grey, or black because it enhances the appearance of wrinkles.

5. Makeup brushes: Makeup brushes are used for precise application of powder or blush to the face and neck area.

6. Setting powder or Baby Powder: It helps to set the makeup and prevent smudging.

Step 2: Outlining the Wrinkles

Once you are done setting the items for the makeup, clean the child’s face properly with face cleaner and warm water. Wipe out the water by using a clean facial towel. 

After the cleanup, examine the child’s face to identify areas where wrinkles would naturally appear, such as around the eyes, forehead, and mouth. Use a light-coloured eyeliner or a makeup pencil and lightly mark the desired wrinkle lines on the child’s face. Be very gentle to avoid any discomfort.
